Cleanings & Prevention
A preventive program is a cooperative effort by the patient, dentist, and dental staff to help you keep your teeth, hopefully for your lifetime.
Preventing dental disease starts at home with good oral hygiene (brushing and flossing DAILY) and a balanced diet. Prevention is continued in the dental office by the efforts of your dentist and dental hygienist with regular dental exams, cleanings, and x-rays. Sealants and fluoride are also great preventive treatments that help protect the teeth.
Also, prevention helps you to avoid serious and costly dental problems, if you can catch the problem early enough, like during a check-up exam. Prevention of tooth loss is the key to having a healthy, confident, beautiful smile.
